Yes. You can still buy a car privately if ASB approves your application. You can purchase a car with a minimum amount of $2,000. Under a secured car loan, you’ll have to choose a car with a value of $20,000 and it should not be registered to or financed by other lenders.

If you don’t have an ASB account, you’ll need to provide these items:

  • 1 Photo ID
  • Proof of Address
  • A bill that contains your name and address
